Career Colleges - Private career colleges offer a variety of educational/training programs that are usually finished in less time than public institutions such as colleges/universities.
While most career college programs are offered on a campus, some can be taken through online education. Since career colleges are not funded by governments, the fees are higher than publicly funded institutions such as colleges/universities. Some offer financial assistance for qualifying students.

Community Colleges - Community colleges are publicly funded educational institutions that offer certificates/diplomas in different fields of study.
Community colleges are found in every province/territory in Canada except Quebec. You'll find that college entrance requirements vary among provinces. While most community college programs are offered on campus, some may be taken through online education.
Many community colleges also offer co-operative education and continuing education programs. There are varying fees for courses and programs. Many community colleges offer programs that allow students to transfer into a university program to complete a degree.

While most university programs are offered on campus, some may be taken through online education. Many universities offer opportunities to study abroad. These programs provide a great opportunity if you're interested in travel or gaining international experience.
